Fluency AI

AI scores are an assistive signal, not a verdict — the scoring pipeline has no speaker diarization, so an enumerator speaking a stalled pupil's missed word aloud (per the "say the word, mark it incorrect" protocol) can still be credited as correctly read by the AI. Treat a flagged reading as a starting point for a listen, never a final answer on its own.

"AI-higher" means the AI's WCPM came in above the human's. This has no single cause, but it's the one pattern consistent with an enumerator speaking a stalled pupil's missed word aloud (the AI can't tell that voice apart from the pupil's) — a starting point worth a listen, not a verdict.
